Capricorn Musicians Who Should Collab (Because they Have the Same Birthday)

Capricorn musicians are the star of today’s post, because we are entering Capricorn season! I’ve listed all Capricorn musicians here. I’ve also written about how Capricorn musicians can use their sign to succeed in the music business here. So we talk zodiac signs quite a bit here.
Today, we are simply listing Capricorn musicians who have the same birthday, then imagining a collaboration with them. It’s anyone’s guess how it would turn out, but let’s see the possibilities:

Capricorn Musicians Who Should Collaborate
First, please let me know your idea for a Capricorn Musician collab:
My ideal Capricorn collab: Click To TweetThese Capricorn Musicians have the same birthday and should therefore make a song together:
Jordin Sparks and Meghan Trainor
Jordin Sparks is a well-known pop star, but I’m going to post her duet with Whitney Houston because duh, I am Whitney’s biggest fan:
Click here to read my post on every Whitney Houston song ranked from worst to best.
Although I am a huge Whitney stan, Jordin Sparks is a legend in her own right. An American Idol winner, she has gone on to release successful music and movies. She shares her December 22nd birthday with Meghan Trainor, who exploded onto the music scene in 2014 with her hit “All About That Bass:”
Jordin Sparks actually covered a Meghan Trainor song before, so they’re already at least a little familiar with each other. These are both talented pop/soul singers and I think their voices would go really well together!
Louis Tomlinson and Ricky Martin
Louis Tomlinson and Ricky Martin were both born on December 24th. Tomlinson started in One Direction, but has since gone on to record his own solo music:
Ricky Martin was a huge sensation in the late 90s with his smash hit “Livin’ La Vida Loca:”
He does have newer music, but this is his best-known work. I really think these two would be a good match. What do you think?
Annie Lennox and Dido
Annie Lennox became big in the 80s with The Eurythmics, and then went on to release her own music and maintain her icon status up through today:
Annie Lennox shares her December 25th birthday with Dido. She was huge in the late 90’s with her song “Thank You,” which was eventually used in an Eminem song, further catapulting her into stardom:
I really think these two would make a great song! They both have that dreamy, ethereal sound and they’re both great songwriters.
Armin Van Buuren and Jimmy Buffett
This is a weird one, but sometimes weird works well. Armin Van Buuren is a DJ and EDM Producer from Holland:
Arimn also has a MasterClass on how to produce EDM music. He shares his birthday (December 25th) with Jimmy Buffett. They also share their birthdays with Dido and Annie Lennox, but I felt like this collab made the most sense.
Jimmy Buffett is, of course, a songwriting legend, mostly creating relaxed, easygoing beach songs:
While this might sound like a weird duet, Armin Van Buuren often works with singers, and I think the two styles could mesh well together.
Black Veil Brides and Metallica
Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides shares his December 26th birthday with Lars Ulrich of Metallica. This is quite honestly a great match. Black Veil Brides are a hard rock band:
Metallica is also a hard rock band, as we all know:
Black Veil Brides has listed Metallica as one of their inspirations, so this just makes sense!
Daughtry and 30 Seconds to Mars
Chris Daughtry and Jared Leto both have a December 26th birthday. They share their birthday with the collab above, but I decided to match them up this way. Daughtry came to fame on American Idol, where he didn’t win but went on to release massively successful music:
Jared Leto founded 30 Seconds to Mars with his brother Shannon. It has been a hugely successful band:
Their sounds don’t entirely match up, but it’s close enough that I think it could work!
David Archuleta and John Legend
David Archuleta and John Legend were both born December 28th. Archuleta was the runner-up in American Idol season 7, but went on to his own great success:
John Legend is Chrissy Teigen’s husband, and also a prolific singer and songwriter:
This would be an incredible collab. They are both super talented and their styles would gel well together.
Andra Day and Tyrese Gibson
Both of these artists were born December 30th. Andra Day is absolutely incredible and I love her so much.
She’s collabed with quite a few R&B legends (Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, etc). Tyrese is perhaps better known for his acting and modeling, but he has done some music and his most recent release was a collab:
This just makes sense, I really think they should do it!
The Chainsmokers and Psy
Andrew Taggart of the Chainsmokers shares his December 31st birthday with Psy. The Chainsmokers are a songwriting and production duo who often collab with other singers:
Psy is of course best known for Gangnam Style, the mega-viral hit from 2012:
Since The Chainsmokers work with vocalists quite a bit, and Psy kind of works in their style, I think this would be a great collab.
Kimberly Locke and Nicole C Mullen (Jan 3)
Both of these singing queens have a January 3rd birthday. Kimberly Locke is an American Idol alumn from 2003, where she didn’t win but released her own music after:
Nicole C Mullen is a Christian singer/songwriter:
They’re both incredible singers and have remained relatively low-profile, so this would not only be a great collab but also a good career boost!
BLACKPINK and Daft Punk
Kim Ji-soo (also known as Jisoo) from BLACKPINK shares her January 3rd birthday with Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk. BLACKPINK is, as we all know, a hugely popular Kpop band:
Daft Punk was huge in the early 2000s, especially this song which is still widely known today:
I think this collab would be unique and cool. Daft Punk is so musically creative, and BLACKPINK are so talented and hard working. This should happen!
Someone actually made a mashup of the two! And they included Missy Elliot which is even better!
Please check out this YouTube channel, they make great mashups and don’t have nearly enough views!
Deadmau5 and Marilyn Manson
I did a whole series on Deadmau5, where I took his MasterClass and learned how to make EDM music. You can see the series here if you want!

Deadmau5 (real name Joel Zimmerman) shares his January 5th birthday with Marilyn Manson. This is a cool song that I found on YouTube that is also a collab:
I think this would be a great match musically. They’re both enigmatic, dark artists with moody alternative tones. Marilyn Manson is best known for his hit “The Beautiful People:”
More good news: someone already made a mashup of these two!
Five Finger Death Punch and Black Veil Brides
Ivan L Moody of Five Finger Death Punch shares a January 7th birthday with Jinxx of Black Veil Brides. Five Finger Death Punch is an amazing metal band with strong vocal melodies:
I’ve already mentioned Black Veil Brides here, but I think they’d make a great collab with either Metallica or Five Finger Death Punch:
Do you think this would be a good collab? Do you think Black Veil Brides would be better with Five Finger Death Punch or Metallica? Let me know in the comments!
Aloe Blacc and Kenny Loggins
Aloe Blacc is a singer/songwriter, rapper and producer who rose to mainstream fame with “Wake Me Up” in 2013, a collab with Avicii (RIP):
Aloe Blacc shares a January 7th birthday Kenny Loggins. If you noticed, January 7th is a REALLY popular birthday for talented musicians! Kenny Loggins is a legendary singer and songwriter with a ton of hits:
This might seem like an unlikely collab, but they’re both super talented and have really distinct voices. They’re both still working (Kenny Loggins has recently been doing a lot of cartoon voiceover work, on shows like Archer and Family Guy, which is amazing). I think they could definitely make something cool!
Noah Cyrus and Rachael Lampa
Born January 8th, Noah Cyrus is Miley’s little sister and also a singer:
She shares her birthday with Racheal Lampa, a Christian pop artist:
They’re both great singers. I’m not sure if the genres would mesh well, and I know a lot of religious artists won’t sing secular music. I don’t know if that’s the case for Racheal Lampa, and I don’t know what religion Noah Cyrus ascribes to, but musically it would sound great!
The Backstreet Boys and Sean Paul
AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys shares a January 9th birthday with Sean Paul. The Backstreet Boys were a millennial phenomenon, a boy band that set a template for many boybands to come:
Sean Paul was huge in the early 2000s with hits like “Temperature:”
Guess what? Someone already made this mashup!
It’s also a remix so it doesn’t sound exactly like either artist, but I’m here for it. I love mashups and I’m always excited to find ones that go with my birthday collab ideas!
Pat Benatar and Rod Stewart
Born January 10th, Pat Benatar was a pop rock icon in the 80s:
She shares her birthday with Rod Stewart, another pop rock icon who was big in the 80s and is still releasing music today:
Fun (personal) fact: My grandma went through a strange, 3/4 life crisis when she was in her 60s. She gave away all of her old jazz records and started listening exclusively to Rod Stewart. She became mildly obsessed with him, and it baffled my family because he was big when she was younger, she just discovered him randomly in her 60s and never looked back. He brought her a lot of happiness and I’m grateful to him for that. He could bring me even more happiness by making this collab with Pat Benatar!
Crown the Empire and Shinedown
Brandon Hoover of Crown the Empire has a January 10th birthday, along with Brent Smith of Shinedown. Crown the Empire is a Metalcore band formed in 2010, but is still big today:
Shinedown is a rockband that started in 2000, so they’ve been around a while longer. However, they are still big today.
To my knowledge, they haven’t worked together before. However, I think this could potentially be a good blend. Let me know what you think!
Cody Simpson and Mary J Blige
Born January 11th, Cody Simpson started out as a young pop singer similar to Justin Bieber. However, he has carved out his own path in music and brings a beachy folk vibe to his music:
Mary J Blige is an R&B icon, also born January 11th.
I think this would be a great collab, partially because they are so different. Either of them could jump into the other’s genre and provide a new sound to it, or they could make something new together and blend the two.
Rob Zombie and Rage Against the Machine
Rob Zombie shares his January 12th birthday with Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine. Zombie is known for his movies as well as his music, which are all very dark and interesting:
In 1996, Rob Zombie collaborated on a song with Alice Cooper. They were nominated for a Grammy, but coincidentally lost to Rage Against the Machine:
The two have never worked together and I think it’s time we change that, no?
Kings of Leon and the Foo Fighters
Caleb Followill of Kings of Leon shares a January 14th birthday with Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. Kings of Leon started as a southern rock band from Nashville, but have since shaped their sound into more alternative rock:
The Foo Fighters are a rock band, founded by Dave Grohl after his former bandmate Kurt Cobain’s tragic death:
I’m happy to say that I’m not the only one who thought these should collab – there are two mashups already!
Pitbull and Skrillex
Pitbull’s real name is Armando Perez, born January 15th. He’s a well-known rapper and songwriter:
Skrillex’s real name is Sonny Moore, also born January 15th. He is an EDM producer and songwriter:
And what do you know, a mashup already exists! Capricorn Musicians killing it:
FKA Twigs and BLACKPINK
Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK shares her January 16th birthday with FKA Twigs. I already mashed BLACKPINK with Daft Punk, but this could be a good collab too. FKA Twigs is a singer/songwriter from the UK:
We already know BLACKPINK, of course:
I think this would be an amazing collab, but I also think Daft Punk could get in this mix! Someone made a mashup of Daft Punk and FKA Twigs, but there isn’t a mashup of her with BLACKPINK.
Sade and Seventeen
Seungkwan of SEVENTEEN shares a January 16th birthday with legendary R&B/Jazz queen Sade.
SEVENTEEN (or SVT) is a kpop boy-band and they are actively involved in songwriting and producing their own music:
Sade is a Jazz/R&B singer with an easily recognizable sound:
It may seem like a weird collab, but I like unexpected collabs and I think this could work!
Lil Jon and Calvin Harris
Lil Jon is best known for yelling “hey” and “okay” in songs, but he’s had a lot of hits:
Lil Jon shares his January 17th birthday with Calvin Harris. Calvin Harris is best known for being Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, but also making music:
