In my last post, I talked about several ways to improve your concerts. One of my ideas was to use video walls, and I brought in an expert to talk about it! This is not a sponsored post, I just like giving you plenty of information and tips to be a better songwriter and/or performer. Hopefully this will give you some cool ideas!

Video walls have been around for quite some time now. You’ve probably seen them on television and you have to admit how customizable and efficient they are. The music industry has always been on the forefront when it comes to adapting to new ideas and the use of a video wall in the music franchise, generally, is not all that new. However, there are several underrated benefits that have come about as a result of engaging video walls in the music industry.
Here’s a highlight of how video walls have taken the music experience to a whole new level.
It’s all about the visuals
You are probably wondering why not settle for a projector, they seem relatively cost-effective. Well, before you make any decisions, ask yourself why LED panels are supplanting projectors and all other alternatives altogether. In most concerts, for example, the main purpose is to give the audience an experience they will never forget. That’s where visual technicians come in. When a visual technician uses LED panels, they increase the chances of getting a more excited audience. Here’s why:
A projector’s brightness is measured in LUX, which means, it uses the reflective element of the projector to calculate the overall picture quality. LED panels, on the other hand, measure the brightness and overall picture quality using NIT, a measurement of direct light. One NIT is equivalent to 3.4256 LUX. Ultimately, LED panels are brighter than all other alternatives. What better way to increase your music experience than using a video wall?
Increased Visibility That Won’t Fade
Prior to High Definition (HD), Standard Definition (SD) was dominant. SD has many loopholes, such as a decrease in image quality as time passes, in one year a device using Standard Definition is likely to lose 30% of its image quality. With HD the image does not suffer from such vibrancy, a constant high-quality image is maintained throughout the operational period of LED panels that complement a video wall. How does this apply when it comes to increasing your music experience?
When there is ambient lighting during a music festival or any event, devices that use SD will be affected and the visibility will be terrible, on the other hand, LED panels that display HD images will not be affected whatsoever.
The more the merrier
LED screens are thin and lightweight, which means they leave more room for a larger audience. Moreover, they can be assembled and dissembled quickly and therefore you are not restricted to one audience. Setting up a video wall is easy and turns on much faster than the alternatives. For example, projectors are limited in terms of their use due to the unconstrained space between the screen and the projector. Additionally, any obstacles such as low hanging curtains and ceiling can affect the lighting. With LED you can be creative and form different shapes such as pyramids, cubes and any other permutation of choice. Nothing tops that when it comes to making music more engaging than it already is.
Conclusion
Music is extremely engaging- from dancing to singing along. However, video walls can make it more engaging and improve the experience twice fold. LED panels used to make video walls are now cheaper and come in a variety of sizes. Unlike the alternatives, you enjoy the experience without any hidden costs such as curtains, screen, darkening the room etc.

Great post. Blackout curtains also work just as well as the black rollout blinds. Thanks for sharing.
