The Pisces Musician | How Your Zodiac Sign Affects Your Music

This year I’m diving deep into each zodiac sign to find how it impacts our music careers. I’ve already done Aquarius, and now it’s time for Pisces! I’ve made a post listing every Pisces musician ever, so if you want to find other Pisces artists, check it out!
Before we get into this, I need to state that this is for entertainment purposes only. I know that zodiac “facts” are not a science and some people don’t believe in them at all. If you’re like me, you probably think there is *some* truth to them, but you can take or leave certain parts. Things like your upbringing, your family, friends and circumstances all impact your personality.
Another important thing to note is that your main zodiac sign (or Star Sign) is just one part of your life. You also have a Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and Planet Signs. You may identify with one sign more than others, so check your other signs here. You can scroll down to find your Venus Sign, Vertex, Mercury Sign, and many others. I’ll be writing about each sign over the coming year, so you can come back and find the one that’s closest to you.

Pisces Singers, Songwriters and Musicians
There are general descriptions of Pisces everywhere, but for a quick overview: Pisces are a water sign, symbolized by the fish. They’re known for being artistic and musical, as well as compassionate and intelligent.
On the negative side, they can be overly trusting and very sensitive to criticism. This can create a ‘victim’ or ‘martyr’ complex.

Musical talent comes naturally to Pisces, so you should have no trouble creating new ideas. You have a strong desire to escape reality, which helps you think of new ideas and fantasy worlds. Music is an escape for you, so it’s a symbiotic relationship. Your creativity allows you to make a safe haven for yourself, which allows you to continue to create. You’re in a good space to make songs! Your hopeful, honest lyrics are relatable and help draw fans to you.
When you’re co-writing, you’re friendly and easy to work with. People enjoy your company and creativity. However, you really do NOT take criticism well, and this is something you’ll need to work on. Remember that people can disagree with your opinions or ideas, and it’s not about you as a person. The goal is to create the best song possible, so continue to work with people and don’t retreat when someone shoots down your idea.
If your co-writer is a Pisces, remember they can be a little fragile. You may love most of their ideas, but if you disagree on one, try not to turn it into an argument. Pisces can wallow in self-pity if they get upset, so try to bring them back into the circle if their idea is criticized. They’ll come around, because the creative and kind Pisces loves to make music!
The Singing Pisces

Emotive singing comes easily to Pisces. You wear your emotions on your sleeve, and this helps you sing with conviction. You’ll want to make sure, however, that your emotion doesn’t overrule your technique. Belting out an angry note is great as long as you support it well and don’t wear your voice down. You may feel emotionally exhausted after a performance, so it’s important to rest and recharge between singing gigs.
Your performances may be raw and honest, which means you might not focus on showmanship a lot. That’s okay if that’s your style! People will be drawn to you as long as you’re honest. Your intuition will help you during performances, so pay attention to the energy in the crowd.
Pisces are known to be one of the most tolerant signs, so your fans will be a diverse and loving group of people. All of your fans will feel welcome, included and important while listening to you sing!

Expressing yourself creatively is as natural as breathing, so you should be able to pick up an instrument with ease. However, you do tend to give up easily. You may bounce from instrument to instrument looking for a good fit, or you may give up completely after getting frustrated. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you, Pisces. Remember that musical creativity is natural to you, so don’t give up too soon!
If you need to take a break, you’ll want to discipline yourself to a practice schedule. This will allow you some down time to recharge, but will also ensure that you’ll get back to it soon. Remember, no one will be more hurt by your lack of practice than you yourself! You’ll also deny your fans your incredible gift, so make sure you do this for yourself and them.
Pisces in the Music Business

You are kind, compassionate and empathetic to everyone. This is great if you’re signing a deal with a band; you’ll make sure everyone gets their fair share. However, this is not the time to sacrifice yourself or your desires! Don’t let your martyr complex come into play here. Remember that the business can be incredibly cutthroat, and not everyone will have your best interest in mind. Don’t be overly trusting – have a lawyer look over anything before you sign it!
You’re open and honest and you could easily do your own marketing and PR, but be prepared for inevitable criticism. It’s part of the business, so if you don’t want to deal with it, feel free to hire someone! You don’t want to get frustrated and give up just because of a couple of internet trolls. The world needs your gifts!
