The Scorpio Musician: How Your Zodiac Sign Affects Your Music

Scorpio star sign

I have a large post listing every Scorpio musician, and I want to expand on that and talk about Scorpios more in detail.

This is my obligatory “you may not relate to this and that’s okay” speech, but there are many things that can determine your personality. Most people think of star signs as being the only astrological sign, but there are so many others including your sun and moon sign and many planetary signs. My moon sign is Scorpio and my star sign is Virgo, and I feel like both of them impact my personality in small ways.

Of course, your childhood, family and friends will also determine your personality, so this is just meant to be fun and carefree. If you want to check any of your other signs, you can find them here. Scroll down to find your Venus Sign, Vertex, Mercury Sign, and many others. Once you have those, you may find that your personality is much more similar to one of your other signs. I’ll be writing about each sign over the coming year, so you can come back and find the one that’s closest to you.

Scorpio Singers, Songwriters and Musicians

As a brief overview of Scorpios in general, they are known to be mysterious, independent and hard working. They aren’t afraid to do what it takes to get the job done, and to do it all themselves. They are genuine to a fault sometimes, and dislike fake people. What you see is what you get with a Scorpio, and they expect that in others as well.

On the negative side, Scorpios can be quite intimidating. Since they are so secretive, they can be very misunderstood. They love revenge and can be cruel and manipulative to get it. A jealous streak both drives them to greatness and wreaks havoc on those around them.

The Songwriting Scorpio

Scorpios prefer to write songs alone, as they prefer to do most things alone. They tend to wear many hats and can also produce the song as well as mix it. They figure they might as well do everything themselves since someone has to, and since they have little tolerance for fakeness, they can get irritated with co-writing pleasantries.

Co-writing is extremely important in today’s market, and it’s rare that a song with a solo writer can become a hit today. If major success is your goal, you’ll want to reach out and connect with other people! It’s also important to allow others into the mixing or production phase. This will allow you to put your strengths where they really belong and make sure you aren’t spread too thin.

If your co-writer is a Scorpio, it’s important that you remain honest at all times. Don’t like a lyric? Say so! They’ll appreciate you much more for it. A Scorpio is also very loyal once you’ve won them over, so you can count on them when needed. If they try to do everything themselves, remain honest and offer to help where you feel your strengths will benefit the song.

If you’re having trouble with any co-writer, check out my posts here and here!

The Scorpio Singer

Scorpios can have throat and lung problems, which is obviously an issue for singing. Since you are a water sign, you’ll want to make sure you drink plenty of water! The good news is that you can recover quickly from ailments, but don’t get too confident in this. If your voice hurts after a show, make SURE you are fully healed before singing again! You may feel fine, but vocal problems often don’t reveal themselves until they are serious.

Scorpios love costumes, as it helps them hide their real self. A stage name and/or persona is a great idea for you and will help you get into your performance more.

Your ability to focus will help you with voice lessons, but again, don’t overdo it! Rest is just as important to your voice as training.

The Scorpio Musician

You have an almost addictive ability to focus on something, which is great for music lessons. You’ll have no trouble playing the same chords until you get them right. You’ll want to remember to keep passion part of your training, though. It’s one thing to play the right notes, but it’s another thing entirely to feel them and let your audience feel the emotion behind them. This is another situation where you can really let your personality shine through. You may not want to show your audience the real you, but you can expose them to glimpses of it through your playing.

Scorpio and the Music Business

Scorpios are prime tabloid fodder, because they remain so secretive about their lives. If you give no information, people will fill in the gaps and make things up. This is where rumors will spread and you may find yourself wishing you had just been more open in the first place. Try being your most authentic self on just one social media channel. It will show your true fans the REAL you, and will also allow you to keep control over most of your image by only being open in one place.

You can also be incredibly shrewd with your business deals, which will work in your favor. Remember, however, to consider all sides before agreeing to anything. If you benefit from a contract but someone else gets completely screwed over, reconsider your options. There is rarely any benefit to stepping on someone else to become successful. Your loyalty should help you in this regard also.

I hope this gives you an overview of life as a Scorpio musician! Feel free to pin the top image so you can check in with this post again. I’ve also made this infographic you can use for bullet points:

I am a scorpio and 13 years old, I wanna be a soloist when I turn 19. I’ve been writing songs ever since I was 11, cause I felt like singing was my hidden talent. I love my vocals so much they are so smooth and soft. My parents also love then and encourage me to not be afraid to reveal my talent
