The Taurus Musician: How Your Zodiac Sign Affects Your Music

We are now in Taurus, which means it’s time to analyze our Taurus musician friends and find what makes them tick! I have a complete list of every Taurus musician here, and I want to dive into what that means today.
Some people don’t believe in zodiac signs, while some people read them every day and follow them religiously. I feel like I fall somewhere in the middle, as most of you probably do also. There are SO many factors that can affect your personality, including your childhood, your life circumstances, etc, that it really can’t be all dependent on your zodiac sign. Another important point is that your main zodiac sign (your Star Sign) is just one part of your life. You also have Sun Signs, Moon Signs, Planet Signs, and others that you might relate to more.
When you consider all of these, it’s no wonder that you may not feel like you identify with your star sign. That’s okay! You can find out any of your other signs here. Scroll down to find your Venus Sign, Vertex, Mercury Sign, and many others. Once you have those, you may find that your personality is much more similar to one of your other signs. I’ll be writing about each sign over the coming year, so you can come back and find the one that’s closest to you.

Taurus Singers, Songwriters and Musicians
There are general descriptions of Taurus everywhere, but let’s go over it briefly just to cover the bases: Taurus is known as “the bull.” Strong and independent on the good side, stubborn and relentless on the bad side. They are also known to chase pleasure almost constantly, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your definitions of “pleasure!”

Taurus can have a hard time writing raw, authentic lyrics. They tend to keep a tough exterior and remain outwardly stoic. It’s important to tap into your emotions when writing songs, so you’ll want to create some type of ritual to get you in the right songwriting mindset.
Alternately, Taurus might be a great writer for easy-going party songs. While other zodiac signs might find it hard to write something completely carefree, Taurus can easily write surface-level, feel-good tracks to get the party started. Whatever songwriting path you choose, you’ll want to make sure you discipline yourself to stay the course.
If your co-writer is a Taurus, you may butt heads over the direction of a song (I have a post on dealing with co-writer disagreements here). It can be hard to get the Taurus to commit to a specific idea or meeting time, but once they are passionate about something, nothing will stop them from their goals. It’s all about getting them to the same page as the rest of the group. Once you do that, your Taurus co-writer will be an unstoppable force!
The Taurus Singer

Taurus lights up a room, in both a good and bad way. One of my very best friends is a Taurus, and she is bright, hilarious, and super loud. Not everyone loves her brightness and loudness, but she doesn’t care because she’s too busy being her fabulous self. The Taurus singer is a dynamic and exciting performer, but can rub certain people the wrong way. It’s cool, we all do! Just keep in mind that not everyone likes your specific style, and that’s okay.
Taurus is likely to argue with fans, as they have strong opinions that need to be expressed. Your political and ethical beliefs will likely be in full view for your fans, which will draw criticism and haters as well as fans. I have a post about dealing with haters if you’re going through that now, you can check it out here. However, Taurus likely won’t care about haters and it will only make them dig their heels in deeper. You’ll want to curb this behavior, Taurus, in order to keep fans. Not everyone has to agree with you about everything, they just have to agree that they like your music!
You may also find it difficult to connect with fans, becoming more reclusive as you become more well-known. You value quality interactions over quantity, and the music industry is full of fake snakes. Unfortunately, you may get burned here and there after opening up to someone, and it will likely make you retreat further into isolation. Keep a tight-knit group of people you can trust and fully vet people before letting them in.

The Taurus Musician
You are likely to be an incredible instrumentalist, due to your stubborn, laser-like focus and your ability to shut yourself off from the world completely to work on something. You have to WANT it, however, and that’s the key. Do you really WANT to play that instrument, or would you rather binge-watch a new TV show? If it’s the latter, that’s okay, but how can you make yourself WANT to play an instrument? That’s the key, Taurus, so you’ve just got to find out how to motivate yourself.
You tend to be motivated through anger, so tap into that and use it to your advantage. Did your grandma laugh when you told her you wanted to play the piano? Did your middle school teacher reject you from a talent show (like mine did)? Use that to fuel your motivation. You’ll show them all, Taurus, you just have to show yourself that you can do it first.
Taurus in the Music Business

Taurus is shrewd, stubborn and ambitious, which is exactly what you’ll need to make it in the industry. However, remember earlier how we talked about keeping certain opinions to yourself? You’ll definitely want to use your opinions wisely here. You may not mind if you’re #cancelled on Twitter, but you’ll definitely mind if your management company drops you from a tour due to controversial statements. Your band will mind, too, so you’ll need to keep yourself in check. It’s not your fault, really. Taurus loves a good debate and thinks everyone else does also. However, there are softer signs (like me, a Virgo) who really, reeeeeally don’t want to argue. We just want to get along, so we’ll go with what you say even if we don’t agree. You need to check in with your team and make sure everyone is on the same page. Once you win people over, they’ll love your eccentric personality.
Fans will either love you, hate you, or love your work but hate you as a person. Frankly, you’re not likely to care either way, and that’s a great attitude to have. I’m jealous, to be honest, because I care very much about what people think of me. You have all the talent and tools you need, Taurus. The world is yours for the taking.
I hope this gives you an overview of life as a Taurus musician! Feel free to pin the top image if you want so you can come back to this post. I’ve also made this infographic you can use for bullet points:
